A safe and fast system using an intense pulse of light, this non-invasive treatment is effective for all skin types and most hair colours, as long as the hair is slightly darker than the skin.
How does it work?
It works with the melanin in the hair, which absorbs the red light projected from the pulse. This causes heat, which causes the proteins in the hair cells to denature, destroying the follicle and rendering it unable to produce new hair. Hair growth is cyclical, with hair follicles going through resting and growing phases.
Only hairs that are in the growing phases are destroyed by the light, therefore resting follicles need to enter the growth phase before they can be treated. Usually 4-8 treatments are needed, with intervals between treatments being typically 4-12 weeks apart. The treatment is very gentle on the skin, causing only minimal discomfort.
